Polycare

Polycare was founded in response to the earthquake in Haiti in 2010. Originally, our mission was to empower people to build their own homes in an affordable and fast way. Building on this initial idea, we have continuously evolved. Robert, our CTO, has been part of this development from 2012. Andreas, our Co-CEO joined the company in 2019. In 2020 we shifted our company strategy to follow the circular economy principles. Today, we proudly offer a portfolio of solutions from material science to production technology of our building solutions.

Circularity is an integral part of Polycare - and therefore also an essential field of research. We identify secondary raw materials for the production of our building blocks. In doing so, we completely eliminate cement as a binder for our geopolymer concrete, paving the way for the construction industry to majorly reduce its carbon footprint. Therefore, we integrate readily available industrial by-products such as fly ash and slags as well as recycled mineral feedstock such as construction demolition waste.

By ensuring the reuse through design for disassembly and capturing the data and value of the components in a material bank, every component of our building system becomes a valuable asset for the circular economy.
We believe using the principle of design for disassembly and reuse is one of the most important paradigm shifts needed in architecture. We see a future of reuse and repair, creating new possibilities and unseen flexibility for future buildings to contribute to the circular economy and to create new business models.

We shift away from linear value chains and design regenerative new processes that push products designed for the future. The principles of Reuse, Repair and Recycle guide us in everything we do.
